Q: Where will I meet the Magic Bus, and where does it drop me off?
A: Magic Bus pickup location is 280 Geary Street, Union Square, San Francisco, just across from Macy’s and close to the corner of Geary and Powell Streets. Magic Bus returns passengers to the Post Street side of Union Square.
Q: When can I ride this groovy bus?
A: it varies seasonally. Our summer schedule is Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 10:30 am and 1:30 pm. Our Winter Schedule is Fridays and Saturdays at 10 am and 1:30 pm.
Q: Can I take BART to Magic Bus?
A: Yes! Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART subway) is a great way to get to Magic Bus. Take any line to the Powell Street station, and walk two blocks up Powell from the cable car turnaround to Union Square. The bus will meet you on Geary Street, closest to the corner of Geary and Powell.
Q: Can we stop in Haight-Ashbury?
A: No. There are currently no tour bus loading zones in the Haight, and no tour buses can stop there — not even Magic ones! However, we do stop in nearby Golden Gate Park.
Q: Can I drink on Magic Bus?
A: No, but you can bring beverages to enjoy at our stop in Golden Gate Park.
Q: Can I smoke on Magic Bus?
A: Big Brother says no smoking of ANY kind is allowed on Magic Bus.
Q: Can I bring kids on Magic Bus?
A: Our show contains references to sex, drugs & rock and roll, but kids enjoy the show, and families join us all the time! Recommended for ages 9+, student rates apply. Children must remain seated for the tour. Children under 5 ride free.
Q: How long is the Magic Bus trip?
A: Our time-travel usually comes to an end in a bit over 2 hours. The time depends on traffic.
Q: Is taking photos or recording allowed on Magic Bus?
A: Yes! Please feel free to take as many memories with you as you wish.
Q: Is Magic Bus Handicap Accessible?
A: Magic Bus has three steps at the entry and is not a kneeling bus.
Q: Are there bathrooms on the bus?
A: No, but there is a stop in Golden Gate Park near a free, public restroom.
Q: Do we go to the Golden Gate Bridge?
A: Not on our regularly scheduled shows, but we can visit the Bridge for private charters. On clear days, a view of the Golden Gate Bridge can be seen from a secret location the Magic Bus visits in Golden Gate Park.
Q: Does Magic Bus run in the rain?
A: Yes, Magic Bus runs rain or shine.
Q: Does Magic Bus offer Hotel Pickup?
A: Due to the site-specific nature of our show, Magic Bus does not offer hotel pickup for individuals. Hotel pickup can be arranged for charter groups.
Q: Is guide/driver tip included in the ticket price?
A: Tips for stellar service are appreciated.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: Magic Bus cancellations must be received at least 72 hours prior to departure time to receive a refund in full. Reservations canceled within 72 hours of departure time are non-refundable. All Alcatraz combination ticket sales are final, and tickets purchased as part of an Alcatraz combination package are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
